SUMMER THEATER CAMP RETURNS

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts and The Performance Project School of the Arts, welcome you to Summer Theater Camp 2025! Two sessions of camp are available at Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale, Aventura Arts & Cultural Center in Aventura and the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center at Nova Southeastern University in Davie.

See old friends and make news ones, be taught by professional performing arts teachers, and have fun putting on an amazing show on the Amaturo stage. The camp offers students the chance to study singing, dancing and acting while rehearsing for a theatrical production culminating in a final performance on stage at the Broward Center. As part of enrollment, each camper will receive a Summer Theater Camp 2025 T-Shirt and cast photo.

Session 1: June 23 - July 18             Session 1 Camp Fee: $995

Session 2: July 21 - Aug 13*              Session 2 Camp Fee: $895  *Session 2 will end on Wednesday, August 13 to accommodate the Miami-Dade public school calendar.

Register by March 14 and receive a $100 Early Bird discount.

All shows and dates are subject to change. All sales are final. There are no refunds or credit issued for withdrawals or cancellation of participation.

$300 non-refundable deposit required. Deposit is applied toward camp price.

Extended Hours

Before Camp Hours (8:00 AM – 9:00 AM.): $60 per session or $10 per day

After Camp Hours (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM): $110 per session or $15 per day

Before & After Camp Hours (8:00 AM – 9:00 AM & 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM): $170 per session or $25 per day.

Catered Lunch

Catered buffet-style lunch is available for purchase. Purchase of camp lunch is not mandatory. Campers may bring their own ready-to-eat packed lunch. All campers must pack their own snacks.

SHOW DESCRIPTIONS

SESSION 1

GROUP A - Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR.

Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime.  Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR. follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.   Filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore and an upbeat score, Madagascar JR. will leave audiences with no choice but to “Move It, Move It!”

GROUP B - FOOTLOOSE - YOUTH EDITION

One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the live stage. The soundtrack recording reached #1 on the Billboard charts, and went on to sell over 17 million copies worldwide, generating such Top Forty hits as its title song and “Let’s Hear It For The Boy" (both of which received Academy Award nominations), plus “Almost Paradise,” “Holding Out For A Hero,” and “I’m Free (Heaven Helps the Man).” With a screenplay and lyrics by Oscar winner Dean Pitchford, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

GROUP A - RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA - YOUTH EDITION

The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with Cinderella – Youth Edition. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. As adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, this enthralling fairy tale still warms the hearts of children and adults alike.

GROUP B - Disney’s DECENDANTS One-Act Edition

Get ready to be #RottenToTheCore! Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney's Descendants: The Musical is a brand-new musical jam-packed with comedy, adventure, Disney characters, and hit songs from the films! Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island… until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?
