New World Dance Ensemble @ Aventura

This year’s performance by the outstanding New World Dance Ensemble is a dynamic program of the work of today’s most interesting and evocative choreographers. It includes world-renowned dancemaker Paul Taylor’s dramatic masterwork, Piazzolla Caldera, set to the tangoinspired score byAstor Piazzolla; Robert Battle, Artistic Director of the AlvinAileyAmerican Dance Theater Company’s powerful contemporary work, Rush Hour; and local choreographer Gentry Isaiah George’s showy and engaging dance, Blue Skies, set to the soaring music of Josephine Baker. Appropriate for all ages, the program also includes Lara Murphy’s dazzling contemporary ballet work, Be Mused, which fuses the technique of classical ballet with the rock music of British composer/performer Matt Bellamy.
